Radio UKIP: LBC just gave Nigel Farage his own radio show

His nightly show joins such luminaries as Katie Hopkins

In it’s desire to spread love and joy throughout the world, LBC has given former UKIP leader Nigel Farage his own nightly radio show.

Radio Farage will air Monday through Thursday at 7pm, giving its host a full hour four nights a week to address LBC’s 1.8 million weekly listerners.

As LBC says:

“Packed into 60 minutes, The Nigel Farage Show will be full of opinions, callers and reaction to the biggest stories of the day, as well as Farage’s nightly Final Thought.”

The station said Farage will broadcast from its London studio, but also ‘on the road from across the UK, Europe and the USA as he invites listeners to share their views on the issues that will shape their lives for years to come’.

LBC added:

“Ahead of the triggering of Article 50 and the inauguration of president elect Trump, Farage will bring his inside knowledge, experience and grasp of world politics to LBC at a pivotal time in our history.”

Farage is happy:

“If 2016 was exciting, then this year could be tumultuous with President Trump, Article 50, elections all over Europe and maybe a Eurozone crash.

I can’t wait to start my daily show on LBC and I invite listeners to agree with me or challenge me and together we can lead Britain’s conversation.”

James Rea, LBC’s managing editor, in a statement he’ll definitely never have cause to regret, said:

“With Brexit and the inauguration of president elect Trump, Nigel Farage is the man at the centre of the two biggest stories this year.

He is a powerful communicator and has proved himself as a natural broadcaster. With his new nightly show, we look forward to him joining the LBC team next week.”

Given Farage’s record of considered remarks – say, about Africans with HIV mooching off the NHS, or a Romanian crime wave in London, or the threat of Turkish rapists if we don’t vote Brexit, or saying ‘violence is the next step’ if we don’t cut immigration, or defending Putin’s invasion of Ukraine – LBC’s decision can only be welcomed as a healthy addition to public discussion.

I think you should grasp that there are now many “red” UKIP members. The party no longer contains a majority of ex Tories. Given the state of Labour and that no one understands which of the two very different groups now controls it, that trend will continue. All in all, UKIP don’t much bother with left or right but we do grasp that globalism is the largest threat to working people and that membership of the EU or some sort of Brexit super-lite will simply widen the gap between rich and poor. Exporting the working poor from the east to the west will do nothing to help the UK buck this trend, it levels us down more than it levels them up.
Nigel is a great man but he’s no longer head of UKIP, we have a new leader and a new direction. Necessary after the referendum result, this change has resolved our minor internal difficulties, Labour’s show no sign of being even addressed. You give the Tories a clear field to rule for the foreseeable future, that’s your shame and our opportunity.
