Aiming for something isn't the same as achieving it
At PMQs today, Theresa May claimed again that her government has introduced ‘parity of esteem’ for mental and physical health.
Journalist Isabel Hardman quickly responded with the following tweet, pointing out a key flaw in the PM’s boast.
This is like me saying I have achieved a sub 3hr marathon time when I have not yet run a marathon but merely would like to be that fast

The government is under fire for its further tightening of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), denying the benefit to 160,000 living with debilitating mental health problems.
Over the weekend, one of the prime minister’s key policy advisers, George Freeman, said that benefits should go to ‘really disabled people’ not those ‘taking pills at home, who suffer from anxiety’.
