Video: Boris failing to understand climate change

Mayor of London Boris Johnson appears incapable of distinguishing between UK average temperature and global average temperature.

During questioning by Green London Assembly members, Boris Johnson is asked why, in his sceptical articles about climate change, he relies upon a weatherman called Piers Corbyn, who has “never been published in any scientific journal that does peer reviews”.

Boris also appears incapable of distinguishing between UK average temperature and global average temperature.

And some say he could be PM one day.

..why, in his sceptical articles about climate change, he relies upon a weatherman called Piers Corbyn

Maybe its because Corbyn has had a good record on medium range weather forecasts while the Met Office & ECMWF have been rubbish.

Hardly an issue for London Mayor – even if you do accept man is major cause as opposed to all those other causes that drove even more extreme changes since the dawn of time. I’d guess evven eco-loon like her would accept that London has less impact than China, India, US etc.Would have thought she could have found something more useful to quiz him on on behalf of her constitiuents

@fubarroso: Citation needed for your claim. I know of know reputable analysis which backs up that claim to any great degree; the only analysis I know of comes from Corbyn himself and others who share his stance on climate change.

Given that Corbyn refuses to publish his forecasts to anyone who doesn’t subscribe to his service – even after the event and given his refusal to engage in dialogue with any independent body wanting to do an analysis, makes me sceptical about his views. This is also a man who claims to be able to predict earthquakes from his weather forecast despite no evidence of any success in doing so.

Read his statements, read the language he uses and read how he goes about controlling how he is reported in the media – and compare that with the same from people who support homeopathy or similar. There is a very high degree of correlation between them.
