Cameron, Gideon, and the Common People

A reworking of 'Common People' with a strong anti-Tory message has been viewed by 70,000 people in three days. Do the right thing on May 6th, urge the makers.

A reworking of Pulp’s 1995 hit ‘Common People’ with a strong anti-Tory message has been viewed by over 70,000 people in just three days. The description on YouTube reads:

“THIS VIDEO IS NOT PRO-ANYONE. IT IS SIMPLY ANTI-TORY.”

Cameron sings the truth to the British electorate about what he needs to do to get in and what he’d do if he gets there.

“Do the right thing on May 6th.”

That video is by any definition of the word simply bigotted; there is no other word for it. It is not even particularly clever.

Lovin’ the evidence. You keep telling me that LFF isn’t a Labour attack blog. Still standing by that?

P.S. There was one bit of evidence you overlooked – the “They fucked the country before” caption towards the end of the video. Ermmm…. you might want to take a look at the before and after Labour have been in government stats.

Master Jabberwock – 70,000 people and counting disagree with you.

Billy – You’ll notice the video’s description says “This video is not pro-anyone. It is simply anti-Tory”. I think that sentiment explains a lot of the shift in support for Nick Clegg in the last 10 days.

We’re a progressive blog and, aside from their focus on open government, we find very little progressive in the Tories’ manifesto. Meanwhile, Labour, the Lib Dems and Greens platforms have plenty to recommend them. So we’ll keep doing what we do.
