A majority of Left Foot Forward readers back some form of military action against the so-called Islamic State (IS), according to our latest poll.
Thirty one per cent of readers supported a UK role in airstrikes on IS, with 24 per cent supporting airstrikes but also open to the possibility of ‘boots on the ground’.
Just 13 per cent were completely opposed to action against IS, while 40 per cent thought the UK should provide humanitarian aid only.
This closely matches public opinion more generally, with nearly three in five (57 per cent) saying they would approve of British forces taking part in strikes on IS positions, according to YouGov. However 54 per cent disapprove of Britain and the US sending ground troops back into Iraq, according to the same poll.
