Owen Smith is the candidate as he was too young to vote for the Iraq War. He is the love child of John Smith and Owen Money…

The need for a sea-change in politics has reached a tipping point. At this stage we can see what a middle-of-the-road (New Labour) and right-wing (Tory) government can do when in office. And we see little lasting good has come from either.

So, Jeremy Corbyn is the right man at the right time. Cometh the hour, cometh the man was never a more accurate saying than now.

People are disgusted enough with the various elites running our world to give new and radical approaches a hearing when they come from someone sincere.

Politicians have come to be loathed for the constant spin and sticking to the proscribed hymn sheet of whatever party they are in. For decades now we’ve had spin from both main parties. People are sick of it.

And vast numbers of people are now clearly inspired by Jeremy Corbyn.

This is why it has to be Jeremy, anyone else simply will not do.

A couple of weeks ago I, as a long-standing and fairly well-informed Labour Party member, would have said “Owen who?”. I can’t see that, even if the membership were to abandon their Labour principles and vote Jeremy Corbyn out, Owen Smith would have enough of a public presence to resonate with the electorate as a whole. Apart from this, Jeremy Corbyn is the only significant figure on the political stage who is representing “proper Labour values” and not just Tory-lite slogans.

Smith with his history of supporting NHS privatisation is an absolute NO for me

Corbyn is a Keynesian socialist. Capitalism is rapidly failing globally; we need to elect leaders who can assist with the transition to a worker-owned economy. Smith is a neoliberal who would only try out the suffering.
