Pay rises outstripped by inflation

The latest inflation figures show that pay rises are being outstripped by inflation.

The ONS has released the inflation report for this month. It’s up again, although not as much as recent increases:

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) annual inflation grew by 2.8% in February 2013, up from 2.7% in January. The change in the rate follows four consecutive months when it stood at 2.7%.

The upward pressure came mainly from increases in gas and electricity bills and from price changes for some recreational goods, motor fuels and air transport.

By comparison, wages are rising at an average of just 1.5 per cent.

Ah yes, you think levelling downwards is “equalling”. In fact, food inflation is rising again, rental prices continue to soar despite the HB changes (which disprove the subsidy theory) and house building has slumped.

Inflation rose to a 9-month high today, with no signs of slowing down.

food inflation shot up towards the end of Labour, levelled off by the coalition government and is hardly getting back to 2009 levels. And even then, the rise is mostly worse in junk such as fizzy drinks, chocolate and spirits.

A slump in housebuilding is rather offset by the slump in house prices, plus there can also be more security living in rental places if you become unemployed.

And as unemployed even hit 5.2% under Labour, I think Cameron and Osbourne have got a long way to go yet in out-lefting the Left.

What about that woman the council are building a big house for, the one with the horse? Or the kind of vermin you can read about if you Google REFUGEES GET A £1.25 MILLION HOUSE AND TRASH IT?

And more ordinarily, there are many others who can live on benefits and treat it as a lifestyle choice. There are many who can feel more cushioned on benefits and the papers can, from time to time, expose some of them.

Google NEARLY ALL MY FAMILY ARE MILKING BENEFITS. Many on benefits need every penny. But others have never had it so good and it’s that kind of thing the government try to curb.

‘She said: “I deserve to live in a nice house and get benefits. In this country, it is our right to live here.

“I haven’t enough money to fix up the house. I only have my benefits.”

Hammersmith and Fulham Council confirmed it may fight to evict the family at a court hearing on Thursday.’

Ah yes, of course you view the basics as “junk”. And keep ignoring soaring rental values. Of course you think above0inflation rises, for decades, is “secure”.

Moreover, keep trying to wave away the vast rises in underemployment and workfare.
