Nazi Nick’s anti-gay radio rant

BNP leader Nick Griffin today said civil parterships "shouldn't be there" in an anti-gay rant on the Nicky Campbell programme on BBC Radio Five this morning.

Another day, another example of BNP homophobia. Following a BNP candidate’s demand that kissing between men should be banned in public, BNP leader Nick Griffin today said civil parterships “shouldn’t be there” in an anti-gay diatribe on the Nicky Campbell programme on BBC Radio Five this morning.

In between demands for corporal punishment to be brought back in schools and insulting black, Muslim and Irish callers, Griffin said:

“Children who are brought up in a marriage do far better. They are far less likely to murdered by their step-father or something similar so society really has to exalt the position of marriage not ‘cos marriage is perfect, because it’s the better way to bring up children…

“We have to put marriage first, that means other relationships have to be disadvantaged in the eyes of society therefore civil partnerships I believe shouldn’t be there because marriage is the important institution of our society.”

Listen to it here.

Griffin also claimed that “millions of other people” agreed with his comments on Question Time that the sight of two men kissing in public was “really creepy”.

I had the misfortune of listening to that performence, listening regularly to that program.

He says “I think the persicution of people for their sexuality is absolutely wrong” and then what does he go and do?

I cannot believe he was given airtime; he is not, as he claims, in the political mainstream.

The challenge of progressives is to stand up to him and defeat him.

Mr Sensible, absolutely, we’re hearing from them more and more.

On your second point, we are going out there and fighting them; on Saturday, more than 500 people delivering more than 90,000 newspapers in Barking & Dagenham with Hope Not Hate, taking on the BNP and exposing them for the Nazi scum they are.

There’ll be another big mobilisation on Bank Holiday Monday, in polling week – hope to see you there!
