He voted against benefit exceptions for cancer patients: meet the new minister for disabled people

Sounds like he's brimming with compassion

The new minister for Disabled People at the Department of Work and Pensions is no friend of the vulnerable if his voting record is anything to go by.

Justin Tomlinson MP, who David Cameron appointed this morning in his cabinet reshuffle, voted for a number of draconian policies directed at disabled people over the course of the previous parliament.

These included:

  • Voting against 365-day exceptions on contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance for those undergoing cancer treatment:

  • Voting for the Bedroom Tax:

  • Voting against the long-term sick and disabled receiving Employment and Support Allowance on the same basis as if they had made sufficient National Insurance contributions to qualify for a contribution-based allowance:

Justin Tomlinson 3

  • Voting against setting the lower rate of Universal Credit in relation to disabled children at a minimum two-thirds of the higher rate:

Justin Tomlinson 4

  • Voting against allowing benefits to increase in line with prices:

Sounds like he’s brimming with compassion.

If everything from the 90s is back in fashion, why not a John Major re-run government for the next 5 years? Its depressing really – this country has been set back by about 20 years and we are back to square one again. I envy the Scots – at least they can leave.

well,he should not forget cancer is just as feckin evil as he is ,and like him attacks anyone any age colour or creed, rich or poor old or young,so he may well find himself shooting a hole in his own foot when the day comes he,or one of his family is struck down with cancer and he has passed a bill saying, tough die,you aint getting nothing to help you out and make your last few months/weeks easier

I said it when the tories won the election and i will say it now, God help us. I still can not get an answer out of any MP no matter what party they are in, how do politicians get to run the country and bringing out illegal laws and breaking human rights laws. Them bastards are bringing out illegal and inhumane laws and laughing more and more the worse people suffer.
