Nigel Farage has blamed the incompetence of his own staff for the reason why a hall was half empty for a Reform UK event.
Farage and Reform’s Treasury spokesperson Robert Jenrick unveiled their party’s “Economic Rescue Plan” on Monday to a near empty hall.
It came two days before Labour deliver’s its first budget under Prime Minister Andy Burnham, with Farage railing against any proposal to renegotiate Britain’s relationship with the EU, while also vowing to cut down on Westminster’s spending “addiction” via “substantial tax relief”.
However, many couldn’t help but point out that the flagship speech was delivered to a room full of empty seats.
Farage told those gathered that the empty seats were down to ‘staff incompetence’.
He said: “It’s all well and good advertising to businesses but on Mondays people who run businesses tend to be rather busy… and for many of those that are here, it’s going to cost them a very great deal of money to have given up their day to come and visit us here.”
