Reform in local government was supposed to be an advertisement of how they would govern in national office and yet the record of Nigel Farage’s party has been one of broken promises, infighting and resignations.
They came to power in councils pledging to cut waste, find millions in savings and to reduce council taxes and instead areas under Reform’s control have been hit with council tax hikes and their version of Doge unit, which was supposed to tackle waste, has fallen flat.
The party’s councillors have also been suspended for posting hateful views, while others have resigned over infighting and a toxic culture.
The below chart being shared online sums up just how much of a disaster Reform have been office and the reasons for its councillors leaving the party just four months after the local elections in May.
Around 158 councillors have left Reform since May, including 55 who have resigned, while 42 went independent and 28 defected to other parties. 24 were booted out of the party.
