Blow for Nigel Farage as poll finds half of voters dislike him
The Reform leader has the worst favourability rating of any party leader
Just over half of voters have an unfavourable view of Nigel Farage, while Andy Burnham is the most popular national party leader, according to a poll published on Sunday.
The survey by Convergent for Persuasion UK found that 51% of respondents had a negative opinion of Farage, compared with just 28% who viewed him positively.
The poll questioned 6,091 people and is not good news for Farage, as most recent polls have put Reform UK in either second or third place, with Labour in first place.
This isn’t the only recent poll which has shown that over half of voters view Farage unfavourably.
An Ipsos survey conducted between August 21 and 27 found that 26% of British adults had a favourable opinion of Farage, while 54% viewed him unfavourably.
Meanwhile, the survey found that 43% of all respondents, and 72% of 2024 Labour voters, have a positive view of Andy Burnham, while 28% of all voters have a negative view of him.
Views on the Tory leader Kemi Badenoch were divided. About 31% of respondents had a positive view of Badenoch, while the same proportion viewed her negatively.
Green Party leader Zack Polanski was viewed positively by 17% of respondents and negatively by 41%.
Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey recorded a 21% positive rating compared with 29% negative.
Despite Farage’s unfavourable personal ratings, a new YouGov survey out today has seen Reform rise four points in the polls to 25% one point ahead of Labour on 24%.
