A poll of voting intention, the first since Andy Burnham took over as Prime Minister, shows the Labour Party has gained in support, narrowing the gap with Reform to just two points, which is the lowest since April 2025.
The poll, carried out by More in Common, found that Reform are on 26%, with no change since the last poll, while Labour are on 24%. The Conservatives meanwhile are on 22%, with the Greens and Lib Dems on 11% each.
It comes as Burnham carried out a policy blitz in his first three days of office to help people struggling with the cost of living crisis, including capping bus fares, removing VAT on energy bills and a vow to end rough sleeping.
In a stark contrast to his predecessors, he has made it clear he intends to make a number of bold policy interventions to tackle the cost of living crisis and bring about the biggest change in British politics in over 40 years.
