Poll shows Londoners trust Khan more than the prime minister
More Londoners trust Sadiq Khan to keep Britain safe from terrorism than either Theresa May or Jeremy Corbyn, according to new polling from YouGov.
Over the weekend, US president Donald Trump criticised the mayor for saying that Londoners has ‘no reason to be alarmed’ by the increased police presence on the streets of London, following Saturday night’s terrorist attack. However, YouGov’s poll shows that 51 per cent of Londoners trust the Khan to keep Britain safe from terrorism, compared to just 30 per cent who do not.
At a campaign event this morning, the prime minister said Khan was doing an ‘excellent job’ of responding to the London Bridge attack. When pressed on whether this meant Trump’s comments were wrong, she said:
“Sadiq Khan is doing a good job. To say anything else is wrong”.
President Trump has previously had a number of high-profile disagreements with Khan — who happens to be the only Muslim city leader in Western Europe.

The mayor is not doing his job, he should come out and condemn the Islamic extremists and put his full support behind British values.

Wow, 51% trust him! What an achievement!
In other words, half either don’t trust him or don’t know whether to trust him or not.
