Fracking enjoys widespread support in Britain, according to a new survey.

Research carried out by the research group Populus for UK Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG) found that 57 per cent were in favour of the controversial tachnique which extracts shale gas from the ground.

The poll quizzed 4,000 people and found that 16 per cent were opposed, with just over a quarter (27 per cent) undecided.

The poll shows that the public would like to see the government use both shale gas and renewables to meet the country’s energy requirements.

“Clean” coal…oh yes, 15% less polluting than the 1970’s plants.

And right, you must destroy more employment by offloading your costs onto the taxpayer.

Neither of whom have any kind of relevant qualification for this.

But hey, what’s a little lie for you.

When he addressed the Durham Miners’ Gala a couple of years ago, the next Prime Minister, whom the NUM had nominated for Leader, promised a hundred thousand people and the television cameras that he was going to reopen the pits.

Tony Blair never so much as attended the Gala, even though his constituency began well under a mile from its location. But he is dead. Or as good as. On this as on several other issues, get over him.
