Fracking enjoys widespread support in Britain, according to a new survey.

Research carried out by the research group Populus for UK Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG) found that 57 per cent were in favour of the controversial tachnique which extracts shale gas from the ground.

The poll quizzed 4,000 people and found that 16 per cent were opposed, with just over a quarter (27 per cent) undecided.

The poll shows that the public would like to see the government use both shale gas and renewables to meet the country’s energy requirements.

Those in power seem to be interested in ramming extremely expensive sources of energy down your throat while pretending that energy prices are a conspiracy made by the companies they’ve employed to build them. Remember, it is landowners like Cameron’s father in law and foreign manufacturers and investors who benefit from wind farms – and you and I are forced to pay for them, because proper competition is disallowed so these protected interests can get our money.

And it has caused them massive problems, which have resulted in them now investing in coal capacity to cover for when the sun doesn’t shine, while they beg their neighbouring countries to let them dump surplus solar power at midday in summertime even at negative prices.

I suggest you get on board with the IPCC’s view that gas is an important way to reduce carbon emissions in the next few decades and to act as a cost effective bridge to better nuclear technology in due course.

Not enough is known about fracking. After watching it on PBS TV about North America what thought if any, has gone into the problem of leaking gas especially within the water
