A few weeks ago the Sun ran a story which claimed that there were '600,000 benefit tourists' in the UK and that the European Union had said this was 'no problem'. The Sun made it up.
A few weeks ago the Sun ran a story in which it claimed there were ‘600,000 benefit tourists’ in the UK and that the European Union had said this was ‘no problem’.
As so often with the Sun, however, it was all entirely make believe; as this correction, tucked away on page 2 of today’s paper, demonstrates:
Not that we already knew that or anything.

What page was the retraction on? I bet it wasn’t on the same page as the lie

‘Not that we already knew that or anything.’ You are but a tiny minority and your riposte was obviously tongue in cheek Most Sun readers, many of them fairly (or unfairly if you’re of the left) uneducated, will not see past a stonking headline like this one. That’s why the Royal Charter will not be enacted until after the next general election: so falsehoods in a medium which is still disproportionately bought and believed by older voters, will continue to give those on the Right of politics the advantage.

What about falsehoods in the Mirror? Or aren’t there of those? Or doesn’t that matter because it’s a political bias you agree with? Or are readers of the Mirror much better educated and perceptive than readers of the Sun?
Left wing = freedom of speech if we agree with what you’re saying
Left wing = only the greedy and stupid don’t agree with our point of view

Way to let us know you are right wing Sparky!
Right wing=not thinking before you open your mouth
Right wing=banging on about freedom of speech so they can use it to oppose the very notion of freedoms without even knowing how ridiculous that makes them look 😀

Which deliberate falsehoods has the Mirror published?
