It’s the video Ed Miliband will probably wish he never had to see again – his robotic repetition, repetition, repetition of his talking points, which was, unfortunately, broadcast without the cuts which he appeared to expect to be made.
He repeats his mantra five times, in various permutations:
“The strikes are wrong at a time when negotiations are still going on, but parents and the public have been let down by both sides because the government has acted in a reckless provocative manner. After today’s disruption, I urge both sides to put aside the rhetoric, get round the negotiating table and stop it happening again.”
The version with all the repetitions played at the same time is revealing; the unwavering cadence is unsettling, to say the least:
