The nation will fall silent today, in memory of all who have fallen in conflict; they gave their lives so we could live ours, in peace, in freedom, in liberty.
The nation will fall silent at 11:00 today, in memory of all who have fallen in conflict; they gave their lives so we could live ours, in peace, in freedom, in liberty…
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Pity in this day and age we think of the dead more then we do of the injured, who now have to go through the same medical WCA which labour brought in, to ensure a soldier with no legs has not suddenly got up and walked .
Honour the dead yes without doubt, but look after those who gave arms legs and minds.
