Voluntarism and decency, under whatever name, should always be celebrated. It’s refreshing to be reminded that there are good people willing to condemn evil deeds and do their best to put it right. It is these people that the state must protect: the full force of the law should be applied to these despicable morons and the streets should be made safe, and kept safe, for those members of civil society who have a right to walk down them.
