Nominations are now open for the most influential left-wing thinker in 2010/11 - please send in yours
It’s time for the annual Left Foot Forward poll of the most influential left-wing thinker. Last year, Tony Benn topped the vote on 44%, followed by Ken Livingstone (34%), Caroline Lucas (33%), Noam Chomsky (30%) and Ed Miliband (24%) – who priescently came ahead of his brother David (18%).
We are now taking nominations for the title of the most influential left-wing thinker of 2011. You can send in your nomination by emailing us at daniel@leftfootforward.org and putting “Nomination:” followed by the name of the person you wish to nominate. If you would like to argue for your nomination, please send a 150-250 word article in support, which we’ll look to run over August. They don’t necessarily:
- Have to be left-wing in a conventional sense
- Need to be someone whose views you personally agree with
- Widely perceived to be ‘political’
They do
- Have to have had a discernable impact between September 2010 and August 2011 on British Politics
We will then draw up a short list of 20 which will then be put to the vote.
