Tory minister Chris Grayling faces calls for a probe after naming a company, linked to major donations to him, as a “preferred bidder” on seven contracts awarded by his department, the Mirror reported today.

Deloitte Ingeous are set to win multi-million-pound government deals to get benefits claimants into jobs.

The Mirror report:

“Another off-shoot of City giant Deloitte sent staff to work in his office two years ago and he had to declare the £27,978 donation-in-kind in the register of MPs’ interests….

“Labour MP John Robertson demanded a probe after a charity in his Glasgow constituency lost out to Deloitte Ingeous. He said: “To be honest, this whole process stinks.”

Number 10 said the rules were followed and the Department of Work and Pensions commented:

“Any accusation of a ministerial conflict of interest is absolutely ludicrous.”

As the Mirror point out, this latest news comes after it was revealed last week that:

“Care UK landed a £53million NHS contract in the North East. It came after Health Secretary Andrew Lansley took a £21,000 donation to help fund his office before the last election from City fatcat John Nash – then a senior figure at Care UK.”

This prompted the Mirror to state:

“Huge bundles of taxpayers’ cash finding its way into the coffers of companies with close links to the Conservatives is raising questions which must be answered.

“We’ve heard the excuses but now voters deserve to see all of the facts.”

    3.Now hang on Sue,

Sickness beefit was the way of massaging the unemployment figures in Maggies time.

So now we want all the “sick” people to sign on as “unemployed” lets see how long that lasts when the governments private sector mates can’t come up with jobs for them to do. When it looks like the government is inept I am sure they will all fall ill again….

So lets see 35 years ago a person or persons were put on the sick by Thatcher to massage benefits, tell me have you ever had a medical for benefits under ATOS. I lost the use of both my legs under the Thatcher regime, I lost the use of my bowel and bladder, and I was told I would never walk again, I was turned down for benefit because they stated I could still use my arms. I had to go through the appeals process and through another medical before a young doctor stated I was classed as Paraplegic.

People who were transfered from employment to sickness benefits were in fact sick, for example my wife is classed Spina Bifida, look it up to see what it is, but she has worked all her life, she had a period in which she lost her job and signed onto the dole, but she did not meet the requirements laid down for the new JSA, and was transfered to Incapacity benefits, but before she had this benefits she found another jobs.

This silly idea that lots of people who are not disabled somehow are on the dole is ridicules
