Thank you Gordon for your integrity, your faithful committment to social justice and your intelligence.
Thank you on behalf of the children in this poor constituency whose lives you have benefitted in ways that few even recognise. Thank you as well on behalf of those in the developing world whose interests you have defended.Thank you especially for persevering in the face of immense media contempt.

Thank you for your substance. The Labour Party is like a family: you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family. As a Labour Party member, I’d like to say how angry I have been over the years when there was so much disloyalty. My advice to those who still rushing into tv studios and print to rubbish the idea of a progressive alliance: grow up, and think of all those who will be damaged by a Tory-led alliance.

Thank you, Gordon, for your unwavering support for minorities, for the low-waged, for single parents, for children – for helping those whom god has not helped. Thank you for using your formidable intelligence in the service of social justice and equality. Thank you for proving the old Tories wrong, that Labour could both make the country prosperous, and work towards redistributing wealth. Thank you for persevering up to this point, and thank you for your graceful exit now.

Thank you Gordon Brown for putting up with the Traitors in the Labour Party; even yesterday, when you gifted the labour party with an incredible opportunity to form a progressive Government with the Lib Dems and the Greens at the heart of it; the Labour traitors came out again and squashed a progressive government. Thank you Gordon Brown.
