In a major boost to Andy Burnham Labour has overtaken Reform in the latest poll of voting intention, giving it the largest lead since March 2025.
The poll, carried out by More in Common, between 24-27 July, put Labour on 28%, up four points, while Reform are 24%, down two points.
The Tories meanwhile are on 22%, while the Lib Dems are on 12%.
That the poll was carried out after Burnham became Prime Minister will be welcome news for the new PM, given that he has vowed to overhaul Britain’s political and economic system to bring about the biggest change in 40 years.
Reform have been hit by a number of scandals in recent months, including over Farage’s finances, which has hit the party’s performance in the polls.
Burnham has vowed to re-wire Britain, reverse 40 years of neo-liberalism and tackle the cost of living by bringing water and energy back under public control.
Within days of becoming Prime Minister, he pledged to end rough sleeping, cut VAT on electricity bills and capped bus fares.
