A new poll has found that voters disapprove of Nigel Farage’s response to Henry Nowak’s murder more than any other leader.

Farage has been widely condemned for exploiting Nowak’s murder to create ‘grievance and division’.

18-year-old Nowak was stabbed to death by Vickrum Digwa, 23, in Southampton in December last year. Farage has used the murder to claim that there is two-tier policing in the UK.

Digwa told police that Nowak had attacked him and removed his turban. The court found that Digwa lied.

Nowak was handcuffed by police as he said he couldn’t breathe and that he had been stabbed. A police officer is heard asking him where he had been stabbed and then saying: “I don’t think you have mate”.

Hampshire police have apologised and the force’s Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones described the incident as a “national tragedy”.

Farage called for the public to respond with cold rage, despite Henry’s family saying that they did not want his murder to be used to “create further hatred, division or tension.”

Following Farage’s comments, riots broke out in Southampton.

Now a poll has found that voters disapprove of Nigel Farage’s response to Henry Nowak’s murder more than any other leader.

The poll, carried out by Opinium, found that 32% of the public disapprove of Farage’s response, the highest disapproval rate of any leader. Starmer’s disapproval is on 27%, while the figure for Green leader Zack Polanski is 17%.
