Are they nuts? £15 an hour for serving burgers? Unskilled labour equates to an unskilled salary, if you want more money, educate yourselves instead of being a fking moron. Sure, if you get £15 an hour expect your workmates to get fired (where do you think the money will come from?) and prices of Mac D’s to go through the roof to pay for your delusions of grandeur.

You sell the food and put on the shirt enter a location whose name is above you, ” Then you are part of it.” To win you backtrack how they got here. If you ware the shirt and are not paid 15 pound a hour any where in this world then join and be united. It’s not about if you like the product or not more-so about keeping the top 1% from keeping 99 % of the profit in either “wa=ge’s ” as they divided to win .
So for the bottom 99% to win. Reunite no boundary’s.

The problem with McDonalds (along with many other fast food chains) is that they are run as franchises. Your average employee doesn’t actually work for McDonalds they will work for ABC Foods Ltd or whatever. Some franchise owners may own several restaurants but that’s about it. The relevance of this is that the legislation for union recognition applies if a certain percentage of staff are members and ask for the recognition. Add to this the fact that, as small businesses, many franchises will be exempt from many of the protections that employees are afforded by larger employers. A recipe for abuse.

Until this is changed we’ll keep seeing this kind of abuse of staff, low pay, bullying, telling them they can’t have guaranteed hours when, apparently, it really IS the policy of the parent company and so on.

Many of these abuses were opened up by Thatcher’s dismantling of union power and removal of labour protection, some have been instituted by the current government but what I can’t understand or FORGIVE is the fact that under a Labour government for THIRTEEN YEARS next to nothing was done to help these very same workers.

Labour says much of what it is ‘going to do’ on many subjects but does little to nothing when it comes to the crunch. And that is why so many people don’t trust them anymore…
