E.C: “What does No Deal mean for the country,”

Not worth giving it a moments thought.

The EU has said there will be no re-negotiation. Rees-Mogg has said No Deal won’t happen. Johnson and Hunt said they don’t want a No Deal.

Tories talk-up the prospect of No Deal in order to keep the UKIP/Brexit Party votes on board.

Remainers/Establishment talk-up the prospect of No Deal in the hope of building strength for a remain campaign.

We’ll end up with May’s deal with one or two cosmetic enhancements – just so that Johnson/Hunt can claim it as a New Deal.

There are respondents on this stream that seem to be stuck in the past. What does No Deal mean for the country, for industry, for the likes of you and me – ordinary citizens. As LLF article states, it is horrendous; after 9 years of austerity under the Tories do we really need more? And why would you want to take such a big risk if indeed BJ does become PM?

Bit like May calling a general election two years after the previous.

If enough MPs vote for one there’ll be a general election. As long as they believe Corbyn will lose, Blairite MPs are sure to vote for one.

The 17.4m (less than 35% of British adult citizens and approximately 600,000 have died since June 2016 – that’s what tends to happen to old gits!) did not knowingly vote for a no-deal Brexit. There is no mandate for a no-deal Brexit. The “will of the people” in this respect is supernova bollocks and jobs and companies will disappear down a black hole. So resisting no-deal must be prosecuted with extreme prejudice. Johnson does not have the power to call a general election under the Fixed Term Parliament Act.

No deal costs 30 bn
May’s deal cost 38 bn in payments, the true costs are closer to the 80-100 bn a year.
No deal is the best solution

Do you want to spend 80 bn a year here, or do you want to axe 80 bn off spending?

Come on remainers. Tell people what austerity you are going to impose.

If ‘No Deal’ is such a risk why are PLP Blairites doing all they can to undermine Labour’s electoral prospects?

With the Tories receiving so much help from Labour’s benches a new leader could confidently call a snap general election.
