Despite the shocking state of the country in the aftermath of WWII, and punishing requirements to meet debt obligations, the Attlee government managed to implement a system which still makes us proud, despite the best efforts of the Tories and Lib Dems to destroy it. Austerity is an ideological choice, not an economic requirement.

Mr Average is down 2 million .450K of state debt, loss of assets at retirement of 1.3 million and the rest from only getting 6K a year instead of 35K in dividends on that retirement fund.

That debt causes poverty. For Mr Min wage, he’s got that debt, and his fund would be 550K. The state pension costs 130K. When the state screws Mr Min Wage out of wealth, its gone wrong.

Austerity. 220 bn a year going on the debt, not on services.

Tax home pay. 220 bn coming out of people’s pockets, going on the debts.

Lack of investment. All those contributions, but zero investment. It’s going on those debts.
