Question arises why UK is so behind in implementing new reforms? Clearly the senior people are involved making profits.

They forget VAT is a big source of tax and that it is 90% regressive. Even children pay taxes! Council tax is a regressive tax also although there is week correlation between income and tax due. What Labour needs to do is make sure HMRC is fully resourced and that their powers are more open-ended complemented by a willingness to bring forward frequent amendments to taxation laws when a new avoidance-evasion wheeze is discovered. Remember tax avoidance is just tax evasion for which the law is not yet complete!

Why would pensions be left off the balance sheet? It’s illegal under GAAP, and as a professor of accounting you either know that or shouldn’t be teaching
