It would be daft for any political party to drop its policies just because of electoral defeat.

SNP got roughly 60% of the MPs – 35 out of 59 – a majority.
The Combined Unionist “No Second Referendum” party
got roughly 40% – 24 of 59.

Mrs May lost seats AND her majority but is still going for Brexit.

Have you any idea how much was spent by the Unionist parties.
Some targetted constituents (like the ones you mention) had 14 leaflets from the Combined Unionist “No Second Referendum” party. That is more than two per week.

The Conservatives will be able to afford that kind of expense next time around but I doubt if the others will.
