It has absolutely nothing whatsoever with defence.

Denis Healey, former Defence Secretary:

“I was very doubtful about the need for Britain to have nuclear weapons but I didn’t express it in public. The main reason we had them was not to deter a Soviet attack but to reassure the Americans”.

14/03/2011: “Document” Radio 4

Most of Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet opposed the original decision to purchase Trident and so it is not asking much for the Labour Party to oppose its replacement.

list of plagues which the neo-liberal economic doctrine which has been hegemonic since the days of Mrs Thatcher and President Reagan, and continued by Messrs Blair, Brown and Darling, has visited on the great mass of the population.”

Congratulations.. two buzzwords in the same (very long) sentence.

Problem is: I have no idea what you mean.
and: Long sentences are bad news for internet readers.

Of course it could be my dementia .. But I suspect you mean we should be able to spend money like water.. As the Government has been borrowing money like there is no tomorrow since 2008, that is unlikely to work very well.
Of course, if you want to go back to pre Thatcher economics, borrowing more money will lead to a sterling crisis and a huge rise in inflation. I lived through all that under Callaghan and Healey.

You really don’t appear to have a clue what the results of going back to the 1970s means – which is what you appear to be advocating. But as your post is full of jargon,, I may be wrong and you mean balancing the budget.:-)

Mr Lewis is right to identify who is responsible for these things. They are the enactment of a political dogma. We have a choice, this dogma is not a law of nature like the laws of physics.

He could have added: they also eat babies, enslave the poor, and kill the sick and aged. They also start wars abroad on false evidence and mislead Parliament. Ooops sorry that was the last Labour Government..

Clive Lewis is just the younger version of Corbyn.
