Workers rights which are being forcibly suppressed.

Most people do not appreciate the extent to which gains in women’s employment rights in recent decades are attributable to our membership of the EU, as you’ve described. Governments of the day have all been keen to take credit when announcing new provisions in legislation on, for example, equal pay, maternity and part-time workers…but have omitted to acknowledge the (European) impetus for these improvements. There is no doubt that women’s employment rights would not be where they are were it not for our membership of the EU. Still some way to go though!

It took a Labour Govt in 1997 to finally sign the social chapter. We must not ever lose our rights so hard won by others. Thats why I will vote to remaIN.
This country elects MEPs. The MEP’s appoint the the Commission. The Council of Ministers is our own elected govt. I see no lack of democracy but I do think there is a lack of engagement with our citizens and that needs to change. We cannot change that system if we are on the outside looking in.

I note the lack of female voices speaking up in this comments section. Shame.

I would think they could do away with a lot of women’s rights in the time they have left.
