No criticism of Diane Abbott allowed it seems.

Millions of Americans voted to re-elect Richard Nixon, so presumeably it was outrageous to impeach him, too.

Or is it only left-wing Presidents who should be above the law?

There was a rule that if your the top 2 you could not stand trial. There is alleged a deal to protect each other, they thought they were safe until the mass unrest. Why should corruption be allowed to stand just because there a woman and elected?

It was extensively covered by Chanel 4 news so i don’t see it wasn’t covered by the new gathers maybe watch a news program that’s not biased like ITV / BBC news (IMHO)

It just suspends her from acting as President. It does not annul the elections that gave her party power. The actions of the interim President must be illegal, unconstitutional under Brazilian law but I do not see any analyst saying so. Can someone comment?

She says “it took only 55 senators to take the decision to remove” Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

From what I’ve read, it took 367 out of 513 of the lower house, a rejected appeal to the Supreme Court, and 55 out of 81 senators. And they haven’t removed her, they have suspended her. The Acting President is her running mate, Michel Temer.

Diane also doesn’t give the context. The collapse of the finances of the government, see:
http://www.tradingeconomics.com/brazil/government-budget

The accusation is that she tampered with the accounts to help secure her re-election in 2014.

Is she innocent? I don’t know. But she had clearly lost the confidence of the lower house, if over two thirds voted to suspend her.
