LFF certainly isn’t written for the majority of Labour party members and supporters. It has “Left” in the title but that’s where the association seems to end.

No mention of Saudi, Bahrain, fascists & neo-nazis in Ukraine, terrorists in Syria (not the regime which is persecuting minorities), terrorists in Pakistan & Afghanistan who have been armed and funded by US/UK/Saudi, the atrocities of whom the people of those countries are bravely facing at great human and material cost and so on (If I attempt to enumerate all the ideologically motivated capitalist-corporate driven wars over the last 80 or so years, I do not know how many volumes of books it will run into). .

Corbyn’s plea to build warmer relations with Russia and opposition to Ukraine’s admission to NATO plays into the hands of the “murderous Putinism” of which you speak and is deeply worrying to me as a principled progressive thinker. In fact, there is really little to choose between Corbyn’s foreign policy and that of Nigel Farage where Eastern Europe is concerned. They would both have the UK retreat into degrees of head-in-the-sand isolationism with regard to the imperialist belligerent atrocities being committed in Ukraine. In Corbyn’s case, because he harbours a delusion that those atrocities were provoked by NATO; in Farage’s because he’s strongly against the EU and thinks Britain has no legitimate business meddling in Russia’s backyard. Neither position is compatible with the fundamental progressive view that people subject to oppression and aggression anywhere in the world deserve compassion, support and protection.

Any two state solution will just enshrine the deep racial and socio-economic divisions that are already so brutally well defined.

Corbyn’s foreign policy is fine and dandy with me as a socialist and an internationalist. No tinkering required, no special pleading for the brutal, apartheid Israel state. Just consistent, humanitarian, international socialism. THAT’S what I call “Left foot forward”.
