A couple of presenters on LBC radio were guilty doing that.

Still, the numbers being deeply offended by cartoons means that we have a problem now in Europe that is not going to go away. You can’t talk them around. Or only a few at a time. The attitudes of Pakistan are now in Britain for good.

We do not normally identify people in the UK by their religion. We should be encouraging their integration into our mostly secular liberal society. And if they do not like it then they know what they can do.

Christians are…far more unified within their Churches than other religions, and it’s via that prism which people from our society tend to view religion.

Why not a more inclusive phrase such as Muslims living in Britain or British Muslims. “Muslim community” makes them seem too separate. Besides, there is not a single Muslim community. Muslims are as diverse as any other religious grouping.
