Violence is violence, no matter who perpetrates it, and whilst I have little doubt that it is mainly women who are subject to domestic violence, the issue needs to be broadened out to include all domestic violence, whether that be towards women, men, children or concerned bystanders. Or, maybe, perhaps moves could be made to address all acts of violence in our society as equally reprehensible. I don’t think making women a ‘special case’ helps matters very much, as it somehow then would make violence against men somehow more acceptable, or perhaps seen as less serious than violence perpetrated against women. Terrible though violence perpetrated against women is, it is no more terrible than that perpetrated against men, or violence perpetrated against people because of their religion, their ethnicity, or the colour of their skin. All such violence is reprehensible and unacceptable.

All the major parties are aristocracy from their education in public schools and Oxford and Cambridge and then coming straight into the political class. Their fedual mindset is trapped 1000 years into the past.
They will never care, ever.
