There is a way around the problem and that is simply not to pay. put a stop on the payments from your account and the they almost always don’t bother to chase it up.

You have to be tough, they will call and threaten doorstepping but that is illegal and they won’t do it. Talk to your salary provider who will, and this is the experience that friends of mine have found, not deduct payments if you say that you don’t want them taken.

I know of several people who have done this and so far none have been taken to court. The loan sharks are frightened of court decisions and will write off the debts of people who stand up to them.
