Cheap power, huh, one wind turbine emits more CO2 in production than it ever saves in its lifespan. Secondly, it costs more to make than it saves in its lifespan. Wind power is a worthless pile of rubbish.

No Political Party is prepared offer to pay a subsidy to those living within the environment of on shore wind farms (within 5 miles) yet this is the surest way to gain support for their installation. If 25% of the FIT payment went into local development, council tax subsidy, triple glazing, sound proofing of houses, etc. the picture would change overnight.

I would like to see more nuclear power, preferably modern reactors. Additionally do research and build experimental reactors of the next generation. If not, be prepared to buy them from Russia and China in 20 years.
