In fact he is also wrong in saying the HE sector is neglected. In fact its the FE Sector which has always been neglected, ie the majority of our student population Post 16 get a poor deal; these are the technicians and others who will complemnent the more academic students in Uni in the workplace.
He may be right in moving more to loans rather than grants because loans makes students realise the value of money and education, and so should apply themselves to getting the most out of education and training, instead of coasting along..
He says poor students are always going to lose out, but we already have a system of buraries, and industry often sponsoring students through HE,
