As a woman I am very disappointed in the left’s alliance with Islam. The political left is importing misogyny by the millions and expects women to keep voting for it. Women across this country need to start agitating for an end to Muslim immigration which is creating a dark future for our daughters and granddaughters.

For many years I was forced to wear a tie to the office. I hated it, but I did it. I even bought nice silk ones to try and make it a fashion statement. It wasn’t. I had no choice. Had I gone to the office without one, I would have been looked down on, probably been taken on one side and spoken to firmly. I would definitely have been discriminated against in rises and promotions.

Today it is different. I go to the office smartly dressed because I like to. I don’t wear a tie, but some of my colleagues do because they like to. No one is discriminated against or ridiculed for either stance. This happened when some people in the city decided to implement dress down Fridays. It mushroomed from there when people realized they had been set free of this silly tradition that was actually compulsory.

While Friday wouldn’t be the right day for it, why don’t we propose full face Monday where everyone can choose not to wear the veil if they wish? No compulsion, no ban, just an agreement that it is ok not to wear it on Monday. Then see what happens.

Absolutely spot on! Islamists and conservatives demand “freedom of religion,” but only in one direction, when it’s in their favor. They don’t grant the same right to those who do not wish to subscribe to their value system. They believe they have the right to impose their hegemony over others.

I think it should be made very clear: the people who think it’s OK for the government to legislate against wearing certain items of clothing are the same people who would have spent the 1930s goose-stepping down Unter den Linden.
