Original number of mining jobs = 493,000
Labour lost 212,000 mining jobs (43%) leaving 281,000
Conservatives lost 224,800 jobs (which is 45.6% of the original number)
Nobody is blameless (including the NUM)

This referred to Wilson government. % are misleading 43% of pits and 80% of what was left . The truth is anything Labour did it was ok because they are tribal voters. Tory Blair is a Tory like his father and used the party to get into power. Like the Kinnocks hypocritical lying chancers. On top of everything Wilson took the money intended for the grieving families of Aberfan to clear the tip. What an insult . A vote for Labour is a vote for poverty 100yrs of proof

(also the strike was ruled illegal)
For over twelve months they prevented them from working, allowing even the profitable mines to deteriate to such an extent that reopening was either impossible or uneconomical.
So the NUM need to take responsibility for about one hundred of the mines that closed under Thatchers government and all the suporting communities that the coal industry supported that declined.

The coal mines were ran by the greedy Union barons, in order to fund the Labour party.
The collapse of coal mining in the UK was 80% down to Labour and 20% the Lady.

As I understand it global warming is just that ie Global, and seeing as there is hardly any differences is temp over the last 70 years the science is unproven at best and a lie at worst, but lets stay with it being a global problem, America are commissioning new coal power plants, so is Russia, China, Germany, France and some other countries, and we see from Japan and Chenoble just how safe that the nuclear industry is, then we should all accept that this country does not accept trade from countries that produce a heavy carbon output, however that will never happen so it seems fighting climate change is a British problem as our industry is saving the world climate change is only caused by British industry is it no other country accepts this carbon reduction in practice, or is there a other reason seeing as the ice fields are growing again, this is still a unproved science.

Seeing as we want to be truthfull and I will add I kept the faith in 84/85 Hatfield Main NUM lifetime member, The NUM has never brought a government down, Fact 1, its prime ministers that call elections not the NUM, Fact 2, it`s the voting population that changes or keeps the administration not the NUM, a lot of us NUM member`s would appreciate some honesty and a end to demonising our union, thank you Les Moore
