Equally obvious is the fact that the strategy of “divide and rule” – whipping up resentment by stigmatising the “undeserving poor” as criminals, immigrants, scroungers – is a way of diverting attention away from the power of the increasingly exploitative rich, who are currently drowning in unearned, undeserved wealth. It’s only by refocusing attention on the latter that Labour might start to win back some of the (non-)voters alienated by its recent conversion into Tories Lite. At the same time it will create the possibility of a more hopeful future, rather than cynically sabotaging such a possibility in pursuit of short-term gains.

Good joke, considering Labour were the party of the DEA and other anti-liberty measures, and have only moved further into the paternalist centre since then.
