Crispin Blunt is trying the same stunt by claiming court interpreters earn 6 figure salaries, even though it is a mathematical impossibility. Seems to be a bit of a theme going on at the Ministry of Justice.

Tim Worstall I find it quite disterbing that your first reaction is that wages should be slashed. That’s really a way to improve the economy isn’t it…

At any rate, these legal aid reforms are just trying to appeal to 1 stereotype, and in so doing damaging access to justice.

Clearly you know nothing. I am on the BPTC course. There are 6 people in my class of 12 who are from Oxbridge and none of them have a pupillage. The rest all have 1st class degrees. The industry is incredibly competitive and the ones that do get jobs are lucky. ‘Newsflash’ (cute) – If you are lucky to get a job, you cant complain about what your being paid. Moron.
