But how on Earth can we carry on with this nonsensical “solidarity” with an unpleasant, oppressive totalitarian government? Just because Cuba has sunshine, cigars (can I mention these still or is it a sin), sexy girls and cool music doesn’t make its government any less offensive to any lover of liberty.

By all means trade with this unpleasant regime – although I have to note the inconsistency of people opposing sanctions on this repressive dictatorship but supporting calls for sanctions on Israel.

I thought the whole point about Cuba for lefties was that the citizenry don’t need no economic freedom?

Much better to live with the Caudillo telling everone what to do: that’s the way you get free health care, so unlike our own dear NHS.
