More than a quarter of a million people have now viewed the Andrew Lansley rap on YouTube.

The health secretary’s NHS reforms have come in for intense criticism in recent weeks, forcing him to undertake a “listening” exercise – yet, as Left Foot Forward reported earlier today, the main reforms in the health bill remain in place, with little chance of them being reversed.

In an interview with The Observer last weekend, Lansley rapper MC NxtGen (aka Sean Donnelly), said:

“I did the lyrics myself, went on the internet, did some research and put it together like a jigsaw and made it funny. And it has just spread.”

With the grey-haired one himself saying:

“I’m impressed that he’s managed to get lyrics about GP commissioning into a rap.”
