Conservatives-they conserve society status quo ‘capitalism’ the crisis in a sytstem which is rotten example the Banking Crisis. Last comment of ‘spent my life helping people who really do not deserve it’ Sorry do not sit in judgement of people mostly told your not inteligent enough to think for themselves by capitalist society. When people have been empowered and have power and use it they make a difference as through some unions and elections with socialist influence in Unitedleft Alliance in southern Ireland, councils in Britain like Coventery.

To David Mullen I take exception to that, I have spent my life helping people and in alot of cases when they really do not deserve it.I am sick to death of people thinking that all Conservatives are scum.

I think what we now see is a government which is culturally liberal but economically and socially free market – in some ways it is actually a truly ‘liberal’ government. I am not a liberal, but a social democrat, and these philosophies are actually very different in their assumptions and approach. Personally I never thought ‘compassionate conservatism’ was anything more than a slogan. The old style patrician Tories did have a compassionate albeit patronising approach, but since the estate agents took the party over from the landowners that’s all changed. The LibDems simply don’t get socio-economic equality at . They are either apolitical ‘community politicians’ who just support what is popular at the time, or really do think that not having ID cards is the most important issue of the day
