Liz, this is going to be the big problem, particularly if charges are brought; Unionists calling for further investigations in to the actions of the IRA.

I would be interested to see where 1 of our recent writers on this matter thinks things should go next?

It will be interesting to see if they have an inquiry on Ballymurphy (which happened a few weeks before Derry… Shaun Woodward seems to think there should be. Somehow I think it’s very unlikely due to cost, politics & sensitivities etc.

I don’t think charges should be brought, except for perjury. It’ll just go on and on and on otherwise; Northern Ireland, though never forgetting the past, must look to the future – as must Israel and the Palestinians.

Shamik, what impact do you think any charges could have in relation to Bloody Sunday?

We’ve already heard comments from Unionists and others saying that members of the IRA should be prossicuted.

Do you think bringing charges is a good idea?

And, Shamik, I see that the European Commission President seems to have fallen in to the trap of thinking that Cameron’s proposals will actually cut the deficit and keep the economy growing.

Despite Spain ending up being downgraded after austerity measures, with the ratings agency saying specifically that cuts were harming growth.

On Israel – absolutely. Interesting news about Pesto! Not sure it’s fair to criticise Cameron too much on BP though, I think any British PM would probably have done the same.
