They invited the Coalition to put forward a minister, the coalition said this could only happen if the BBC axed Campbell. They are the ones trying to dictate to the BBC, they are the ones in the wrong – even Guido and Iain Dale think so.

It is the Question Time Editor, not the political parties, that influences who is and isn’t on the program.

This seems to represent the “New Politics” of backroom deals and stich ups.

Firstly just how *serious* Alastair Campbell seemed – I’d almost forgotten how *boring* old politics was and secondly the fact that Labour didn’t even have the decency to put up a shadow cabinet minister.

Why should they be represented by an unelected control freak Labour party member and the coalition be expected to put up a minister? All Campbell was doing was trying to promote his book and frankly it is a new world now and he should crawl back under the stone he came from and take Mandelson with him.

The sooner David Miliband is elected Labour leader and we can forget all the Yvette Cooper’s, Lyam Byrne’s and that type the better. Roll on the party conference…
