He split Europe over the Iraq war and undermined process at the UN when he pushed to invade Iraq. He’s British too, so he’s not representing the Eurozone or the Schengen Area.

I can’t see the Tories being too upset. The Times article suggests Sarkozy and Merkel – two right wingers – are the ones behind Blair. So surely the Tories would prefer Blair (a right winger in a European context) to someone like Felipe Gonzalzez or Jean-Luc Dehaene?
