Surely the Tories have (as Labour will) already indicated that these polices will be redrawn in coming months to cope with the state of public finances?

That said, I thought the best way to welcome you would be to disagree (respectfully) with this post, which I think makes a fairly basic mistake – confusing school places with pupils. The UK school system ensures funds follow pupils, not places. And the Tories have proposed 220,000 new school places – not 220,000 new pupils.
